Painted over an older work, Rain Over There is originally a large-scale piece (48” x 76”) made with a mix of acrylic and house paint. It came together over a few days—on and off, with lots of pauses to step back, breathe, and trust my instincts. This painting quickly unfolded, revealing itself layer by layer. The title refers to the deep blue section scattered with soft white drops—like distant rain on the horizon. I’ve always loved rain. There’s something comforting about seeing it fall just beyond reach, knowing it’s on its way. That quiet anticipation inspired the mood of this piece.
