A creature so vast that a universe is just what falls out of it. That churn of deep green, ink black, coral, and blue reads less like abstraction and more like tissue — something dividing and expanding in real time.
Painted in 2014, over a year into a daily practice of making one abstract piece a day on an iPad. This was the first time that curiosity moved to oil on canvas, painted directly over an earlier work now lost underneath it. The influence of Oliver Vernon shows if you know where to look. The title came after, once the thing had already decided what it was.
