Kaninhoved is his label for prints and objects. It's Danish for “rabbit head,” a nod to his family's roots, and it stuck because it sounds the way he wants the work to feel: spare, a little strange, not built for easy agreement.

Rain Over There, Eight, Stockholm 67 — distant storms, coded landscapes, moments of luminous rupture. Structure and instability trade places from one canvas to the next.

Adjacent universes

Large-scale abstractions that read like landscapes from a world one step over: geometric bands and rhythmic dots holding against fields of turquoise, lavender, electric pink and brooding blue — until a gesture cuts through and a buried layer comes up for air.

Built, then erased

Recycled paint and found materials, built up and scraped back in layers — marks buried, then dug out again — until the surface holds visible time. Unstable, layered, and unmistakably made by hand.

Below grade

The studio is a basement. Plastic sheeting stands in for drywall — a temporary fix that has quietly become permanent. It suits the work: nothing down here is precious, and everything can be painted over.

No undo

Born in Princeton, New Jersey, Chamberlin trained in fine art at the Maryland Institute College of Art and interned at Walt Disney Feature Animation. Thirty years of design work followed — at IBM, Samsung and NetApp — and built an instinct for precision, structure and controlled complexity.

Painting is the counterweight. No undo, no revision history, no frictionless perfection. He brings the same rigor to it and lets the paint push back. Every decision leaves a mark, and the mark stays.
